Japan - Where Food is an Art Form

We both love Japanese cuisine however we had no idea the overload our senses were about to endure and totally enjoy.

Everywhere you look food is an art form using colour and shape to tempt your taste buds.

We had arrived in Japan just in time for the Cherry Blossoms so there was even more colour to behold.

We were keen to explore the source of our food so we organised a very early visit to the famous Tsukiji Fish Market in Tokyo displaying seafood of every kind direct from the fishermen.  Skills on display as we watched in awe as blades fiercely turned whole fish into delicate slices.

My Global Grazing Adventure:  This was a group holiday organised by our Japanese teacher friend keen to show us her home country, its people, its food, culture and history.

A visit to Hiroshima was sobering and sombre yet a nod to the Japanese people to move forward with a positive spirit.
